The Xmas Tree hunt

from the keyboards of misis_pb

Last weekend, I pulled-out my Xmas decors and was actually thinking of decorating the house. Somewhere between opening the boxes and setting up our small Christmas tree, I lost the interest in finishing it up and ended the day by placing all the decors back into the box.

Its been a wonder for me how come National Bookstore and SM malls can make a simple tree majestic, but Shopwise can't seem to. Now that Christmas is once again just around the corner, with my own house to decorate (its only our 2nd Christmas in our house), I feel the urge to once again find that perfect Christmas tree solution.

Then I remembered posting this...

So for this year, We will do this. Now, how to stick those abubots is another planning session.

:-)

Here's another brilliant idea...

Although, Im pretty sure the house will have scattered post-its all around becasue Taal will try to pick it up from the wall and stick it somewhere else...

But its another option...

Now, if i can only find something else... Any suggestions?

Hmmm... I wonder if the husband will let me do this... I actually like its chaotic-artistic-bright-homey effect.... But restrictions restrictions.... tsk tsk tsk... Thanks to Apartment Therapy for this photo.

The Indian Pillows

from the keyboards of misis_pb

The start of my Indian-inspired sala make-over...

I drool over bargains like anyone. Especially if i get to buy something expensive at almost 70% off the original price.

Bought this babies originally priced 395.00 each at 120.00 each.  Still quite expensive but its really nice and beautifully made.  These are items bought from India, made in India.  I guess a lot of people found it too expensive that Shopwise had to offer it for clearance sale.

Bought this a little over a month ago but just got to use it last night.  Shopwise Sucat finally had the pillows for it.

I intentionally bought different designs as advised by my Mom who was with me when I bought this.  I got 5 pillow cases which turned out to be a problem since the throw pillows came in packs of 2.  Now i need to find another pillow case to make use of the extra throw pillow.

from the keyboards of misis_pb

Its another one of those days when Apartment Therapy caught my attention and spent almost 1 hour going through their site.  Some great finds that inspired me:

I LOVE how the vases' contrasting colors complement each other.

This one, I love the pink wallpaper used.

For this photo, what got my attention are the framed artwork.  Same artwork in different colors.  Nice.

Weekend bonding - our 3 P's this weekend

from the keyboards of misis_pb

Weekend projects:

1.  Palitaw
(for those who don't know this, click to find)
I was not able to take  a picture, but my dad ate almost half the batch! Plus take home pa.

2.  Painting
After uying the art materials (paints and sketch pads and brushes, etc) last October, We finally got the chance to do some painting! And It was too much fun that we finished all the 20 pages of the sketch pad and filled up almost a wall along our stairs.  Thanks to Julie for her share of fun of 3 and 1/2 art works.  May i will try to take a closer photo of each just to share with everybody.  I think we will do this again.  A very good de-stressing activity.  Its just nice to see your hands filled with paint after painting.  Ada started from basic houses and flowers, pero she started doing abstracts after 3-4 basics...

3.  Polvoron
Our Saturday night out in Pergola and Ruins in BF was spent buying Polvoron ingredients and some DVDs and PS games.

But it was only last night, after dinner (around 9pm) when i got to work on Kyan's polvoron.  Yes its his because he requested for it.  And bugged me the whole day to do it.  So i did.  Finished by 10:30pm.  And here's the result.  It actually tastes good.  And i was so happy after.  Thanks to ada and manang for the assistance.  Ada helped in the molding and Manang did the wrapping.  Julie and Kyan did the eating, and Taal too!

from the keyboards of misis_pb

The husband will be gone for 2 weeks starting on Sunday. And my plan is to turn the house from its current dull stage to a festive abode. Went looking at artificial trees last weekend in Ali Mall, but they just seem to "ordinary".

Had some time surfing the web and came across this really cool site and made my creative juices come out... Sharing some rally cool ideas:
